Introduction:

The aim of the 4K Collaborative Impact Project (CIP) was to create a learning environment where students are absorbed in their learning. Students would be more aware of their learning goals, have strategies to improve their learning and receive more effective feedback.

 

Observable Impact in 4K

  • Teachers and leaders are more systematically collecting and using student data to inform their decision-making around next steps for learning
  • Teachers more often set goals for student learning and convey the goals to the students.

  • Students’ ability to express their learning goals has increased as a result.

  • Students are now aware that learning is a process and have learned to use different strategies to reach their goals.
  • Teachers and other educators are increasingly discussing pedagogical methods with their colleagues to improve learning.

4K and Challenging Learning conducted a Current Reality check at the start of the project (black line) and 20 months later (purple) to show where shifts in practice had occurred:
